PERFECT WEDDING DAYS

Organising a hen party to suit everyone's taste and budget can be a real challenge. To make life a little easier, we’ve come up with a few suggestions to get your started.

Spa Day
A spa day can cost as little or as much as you want, giving hens the choice whether to pay extra for treatments or just relax in the wet facilities.  At the higher end you could choose a Health Farm, for example Champneys.  A good website to search for such places is http://www.spabreak.co.uk/default.ink.  At the lower end a lot of hotel chains have spa facilities, for example Q Hotels and Hilton Hotels.  Another cheaper option could be going to a chain of gym, for example David Lloyd , Virgin Active or Cannons.  If you choose this option you probably want to choose an adult only gym.

Make-over and photoshoot
Another pampering option involving having your make-up, hair and nails done, followed by a photoshoot with the choice of buying photos or just choosing one free one.  For more info see our separate article

Theatre and Cocktails
Going to the theatre is a more subdued activity, but choosing to go to a matinee performance gives you the option to go for cocktails and dinner afterwards.  Musicals such as Greece, Mary Poppins and Saturday Night Fever offer the best light entertainment for a hen day.

Limo and department store personal shopper
Ideal for smaller hen parties of 6-8 people.  House of Fraser, John Lewis, Selfridges and Debenhams are just a selection of department stores that offer this service.  Whilst you are there why not treat yourself to a free make-over in their beauty department.  Other shops offering a personal shopper include Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Next.

Chocolate making workshop
A chocolate making workshop is a great way to spend an afternoon with your favourite hens.  You will learn about the origins of chocolate and the process from bean to bar, and discover the art of making Dutch truffles, fudge and praline. Demonstrate your cookery skills as you and your hen party cut, dip and decorate under a skilled chocolatier’s guidance. You will return home with a box full of your chocolate creations.  My Chocolate (www.mychocolate.co.uk) offer a two and half hour experience, with or without champagne.  If you can't go to them (London) then they can come to you.  An alternative is a 2 hour chocolate feast for up to 12 people at http://www.choccywoccydoodah.com/ in Brighton or you could really splash out at http://www.thechocolateboutiquehotel.co.uk/ in Bournemouth.

Cheer Leading
A fun experience for at least 10 hens which will leave you feeling great.  Your professional choreographer will get you warmed up and take you through some simple cheers and combinations, before building up to a full routine to music of your choice.  Pom Poms mandatory.

Day at the races
A day at the races is a great summer hen day experience and gives you the opportunity to dress up and drink champagne.  See http://www.a-day-at-the-races.com/ for more information and a list of racecourses.

Go Ape
Fancy more of an active hen day experience?  Go Ape is a high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides... all set high up in the tree tops.   You'll be fitted with a climbing harness and given instruction before trekking from tree to tree high above the forest floor.  Split into a number of different sections, the experience takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete.  For more information see article
